Our concern for the environment is expressed in different ways.
It goes without saying that we work with an eternally renewable raw material and that was a very deliberate choise. We buy and process maximally FSC®- spruce from the high North. Why do we choose to work exclusively with timber from Scandinavia and Russia? Trees grow much slower there which results in far more stable and firm timber. When the war broke out in Ukraine however we immediately stopped our purchase of Russian timber. Unlike timber constructions that are made out of German, Romanian or even Belgian timber, our products will encounter less stress and will therefore last longer and look nicer. When treated thoroughly and repeatedly with the correct stain or paint, our products last for generations. We sincerely hope you share our concern for nature and the sustainability of our planet by treating these wonderfull materials with respect.
It doesn't end with the way we purchase our timber. Through our continuous and profound efforts to minimize waste-streams, the 100% recycling of our timber production waste and the choice to work exclusively with green energy we feel proud and confident to say that a Gardenas product truly is a green product.
